Small serial LCD

I need to make a small meter with a Propstick.· The 2x16 line serial LCD from Parallax worked fine in a previous version of the meter but its large size limits how small a meter I can make.· All I need is a six digit display (backlight not needed).· Anyone know of a source for a small LCD that would replace the serial LCD?

    Futurlec have a neat little 2 x 8, but it's a parallel version.

    As I do not know the American market no link from me, but note that there are literally thousends of fancy displays for $5 at ebay, flea markets and local shops based on the KS0108 controller. They have a 4-bit nibble interface, however.
    You pay the difference of $20 to a "serial display" (and reduce your choice extremely) for an additional controller on that display, doing tasks which the propeller can easily do itself.

    But you spend 6 i/o lines rather than 1 - this is probably the catch....
