DLP-Prop USB Problems

In a project of mine, I'm using the DLP-prop. I got it all wired up, powered it on; but instead of getting the found new hardware wizard that normally comes up, I got a message saying that the USB device is not recognized because it has malfunctioned. I have tried reinstalling the drivers, along with everything else I can think of. Any Idea what the problem could be?

Thanks,
Craig

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

People say that if you play Microsoft CD's backwards, you hear satanic things, but that's nothing, because if you play them forwards, they install Windows.

I spent a minute looking at my own code by accident. I was thinking "What the heck is this guy doing?"

I'm afraid I don't have any personal experience with the DLP-Prop. That's an odd sort of message though since the DLP-Prop, like most of the Prop boards with a built-in USB adapter, uses an FTDI interface chip and the driver, if it works for one, should work for all the same way. One possibility would be a short circuit somewhere that would cause the DLP-Prop to attempt to draw more than 500ma from the USB port. The PC will detect that and refuse to complete the process of activating the USB device. I can imagine other cases that might cause a similar message, but they'd all involve a defective DLP-Prop.

Thanks for the reply, however I doubt it's a defective DLP-prop. I have tested it with 4 of them so far, they all give this error message. Could it be something to do with the computer, it's running Windows XP x64. I have used a prop plug with the same computer though, so it seems unlikely that computer is the problem. I will attempt to try it on a standard 32-bit computer later today, and see if that fixes it.
