New 912 MHz Transreceiver from Parallax

Hi all,

Has anyone had any experience with the new Parallax 912 MHz Transreceiver that is now appearing on the New Products page?

It looks like it has connector for connection to the BOE Application connector. Does anyone know?

Upon review of the BOE electrical schematic and the 912 MHz Transreceiver pin-outs that appear in the Transreceiver picture, there does not·appear to be any relationship between the BOE Application connector pin-out and the Transreceiver pin-outs.

Another observation is that the Transreceiver does not appear to have an RTS or a CTS line like the eb501 does.

Regards,
TCIII

    Tom,

The 912 MHz RF Module is not designed for the AppMod connector. It is a simple SIP header and can plug into any breadboard. While there is no RTS/CTS the modules do have a simple FIFO and 16-bit CRC error checking. They also have great range. Take care.

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.

Will Parallax be coming out with a user manual?

I ordered two of the Transreceivers today and hopefully they will come with some user instructions. Not that it matters as they look like they are pretty self-explanatory as to their use.

    Regards,
    TCIII

    Tom,

There is a small user manual in the package. Due to the simplicity and straight forward design of these we’ll probably only release a small connection diagram with sample code. Take care.
