Is there anyway for you to figure out what IP the device is using in your code?

    Hello,

With the current firmware this is not possible. Very soon we will be selling modules with updated firmware. On the future release of the firmware you will be able to read the IP Address, Subnet Mask, DNS and Gateway. You will also be able to read the IP Address the last UDP packet came from. E-Mail will support plain text authentication. SSL will not be supported.

What is the timeline for the updated firmware?

Is the source for the firmware availible?

Is there some way for me to add in this functionality on my own or some how access the memory directly on the pink and bypass the serial interface?

    Hello,

The new firmware could start appearing on PINK Modules we sell starting next week. I’m not sure what you mean by the source being available…The firmware itself will not be available as a download. You could add the functionality on your own if you purchased a development kit from NetBurner, but there is no other way to access the data besides through the module’s firmware. Take care.

Will there be a way to upgrade the old modules (we purchased i believed 20 last week) to the new firmware?

Currently the only upgrade path would be to send in your modules to be reprogrammed. Note that, since this upgrade is to add features to a third party product, customers would be required to cover shipping modules to/from us should they choose to have the firmware upgraded. The actual upgrade would be done free. Also note the changes to the firmware won’t affect most current customers. That is, they would get no additional benefit from the changes. Take care.
