I'm going to be playing around with the prop and VGA (not composite) displays and I'm wondering if anyone can suggest panels they've had success with?

Pretty much anything designed to plug into a VGA port on a PC will work. I use a Samsung SyncMaster 213T which works with all of the VGA drivers I've tried.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I plan on using LCD panels, not monitors, as I'd be panel mounting them in custom enclosures.

Places like www.eio.com and www.earthlcd.com have surplus LCD panels quite cheap! Of course, there's rarely anything as convenient as a VGA connector on them 8(

I'd consider just taking a screen out of its casing unless you need a really small one, the prices are so low .

    Check out stores.ebay.com.au/SkyPro-Ind-Co-Ltd ... Less than $200!
I have one of the 8 inch displays with touch screen and it looks beautiful with the propeller driving it. I can even read the touch screen using a Vdrive module. They run on 12 volts too, so are ideal for propeller projects - portable instruments, automotive, etc.
    Cheers,

I think I am looking for the less then $50 range for a color lcd screen. smile.gif Or something that is more quality screen like a qvga analog RGB or the like for $100 I had been eyeing the liliput type monitors and they seem to hit around $120~150 and might fit my theories. I have also been watching ebay for lcd screens that are embedded in headrests. Some I see 2 headrests + DVD player for 200$ - which I would salvage the monitors out of for my projects. smile.gif

Its a color-LCD but i use it in BW Mode smile.gif

A very bad LCD is the Joytec universal 7 Inch TFT.
I bought one at eBay for $100 but its not possible using it as a text-monitor.

    have fun
