Need input badly.
Not to sound like Johnny Five, but I'm looking for some knowledge. I know there are camera vision systems out there such as CMUcam, but I don't really understand how it works and would really like to learn more about vision. Are there any online articles or sites that discuss it as it pertains to robotics in layman's terms? The reason I ask is because I had a crazy idea.. is it possible to use ping or other similar sensors along with a camera feed and over lay the two together? I had heard about a method of using a laser to map 3 dimensional surfaces, but have not seen any documentation of it either. Am I crazy?

1.· check out a good tutorial on computer vision at Society of Robots (http://www.societyofrobots.com/programming_computer_vision_tutorial.shtml)
2.· check out RoboRealm at http://www.roborealm.com/index.php.· the have a good article about using it with a BOEbot at http://www.roborealm.com/help/Parallax_BoeBot.php
