If you look on page 4 of this pdf file

    http://www.parallax.com/dl/docs/prod/acc/GPSManualV1.1.pdf

you will see the accuracy listed as +/- 5 meters on the average.

However, this can vary quite a bit, depending on whether or not
you are indoors or what might be blocking the signals from the
GPS satellites in reaching your antenna.

Confused here.· Does that mean that all points are up to 5 meters off, or will it appear to my bot that it is jumping around by 5 meters between recieving data???

That is the drift over time due primarily to atmoshperic conditions, so unless your bot is in a tornado or perhaps a huriccane, the readings will not fluctuation severely between different readings.

All GPS systems have an inherent accuracy issue affected by a number of factors. Number of Sats, Weather/Humidity conditions, metal framework or building around the GPS. It doesn’t just become, say 5 meters off and that is consistent for all readings. You can have a variance of that much on any given reading. Also remember that when you plot the coordinates to something like Google that the mapping grid they use may be off for the readings you get. GPS systems with maps often correct for this.

Something cool that some of our scientists do, is use GPS signals to determine precip rates/amounts using the attentuation/phase change of the signal.

This has been a Cliff Claven moment!
