Power supply
Does anyone have a power supply that will deliver at least 18VDC @ 2.5 amps.· Have a stepper project but no power supply.

google for converting desktop computer supplys and put them in series
there are several articles on how to do it, ive got three of them in series right now driving my cnc, works good and is cheap, just be sure to follow the instructions

ps if you daisy chain them in series, make sure the first one doesnt have a ground from its board to its case.
i cut off the trace that did that on my first one.

Take a look at www.mpja.com, In my opinion they are the 'King' of surplus power supplies! Here's a switcher rated at 18 VDC @4.2A:

If your voltage can go say 24VDC or more they have more choices in that range.
