I finally can say that I have a project that is finished!!· jumpin.gif·· Well, can you ever say any project is finished??· I know that there have been several projects that are similar but I wanted to get any and all info out to help anyone that may need it.·
·
There are several things that I want to change for the next one.··idea.gif·· That’s the beauty in making your own stuff.· You can realize and change the things that you don't like.·
·
The total cost was around $140.00 for everything but the lock.· I didn't include the price of the lock because there are many possibilities. The controller should be able to ·control many different 12VDC locks.· One thing I would like to add is that you need to add a diode to the board if your lock does not have one built in.
·
·I'm open to all kinds of comments and questions.· I'm by no means am I an expert and I would like to learn how to do things better!!· I would also like to say Thank You to everyone that has helped in any way.· hop.gif

The parts list is in Excel and for some reason it won't let me attach it.· If you want a copy of it I can email it to you.·

Nick, cool little project. Would it better to have the circuit that powers the lock as well as the stamp somewhere inside so someone couldn't just apply power to the solenoid to open the lock?

Also, I assume you just have one card, but if you had multiple cards for different people it would be nice to log the history of who accessed it in the EEPROM, though you may have to get a time chip if you wanted to record the time.

    Thanks for sharing.
    Jeff
