Anyone know of a good 24pin ZIF socket that fits in the BS2 port of the Board of Education? I hate having to pry the chips out.

This one from www.mouser.com will probably work:

I use this one on my Professional Development Board and it fits like it was made for it:

If you happen to need the 40 pin the buy it from www.bgmicro.com, it's the same thing, as the mouser 40 pin ZIF socket,·and a lot cheaper:

Note: If using the 40 pin ZIF on the PDB it will have to be removed so you can install a BS1.

And the pins are long enough to sit in the 24 pin socket on the boards?
I think that will work:

The IC socket on the PDB is different than the one used on the Board of Education, but as far as I can tell that should work. From past experience, in using different brands of ZIF sockets, most ZIF socket pins have been too wide to fit a standard IC socket. Sorry don't have that exact socket on hand, in a 24 pin format. However I do have the 40 pin version of that ZIF socket. I removed it from my PDB board and installed it on a BOE. Besides having too many pins and hanging off the board, it fits snug and with a BS2 installed, the Basic Stamp IDE was able to identify the BS2 module installed on the BOE in the 40 pin ZIF socket.

I bought a 40 pin Zif for my PDB but found it hits the DB9 connector, apart from shaving the corner of the zif the only way i can see getting around the problem( I dont want to desolder anything from the PDB) is to buy several 40 pin bases and stack them up to raise the zif away from the connector, did yours fit straight away? also I found the pin are too·big(wide, although same pitch)·for the socket on the BOE as the base has small round holes and the Zif has flat pins so im now concerned that the extra stacked bases may not fit the PDB. Does the zif you bought fit the base ok or did you have to modify it?

No modifications made to the PDB or the 40 pin ZIF socket, fits like a glove with little room to spare. This one came from www.bgmicro.com, same one www.mouser.com sells. Links are posted above.

Pins appear to be flat metal that has been rounded.
