I just wondering how I translate this pbasic code into spin code:

   FREQOUT 0, 1, 38500

If you go to the Propeller object exchange from the Propeller main page and download BS2 Functions V1.3.5 it claims to have a FREQOUT component. I haven't used it, but until someone else chimes in, maybe this would get you started.

The PEKbot download on that page has an IR Detector object that you can use. See PID Following Propeller Bot.spin for examples of calling that object's methods.
