Stamp PLC and Spin Stamp

Has anyone tried to use the new Spin Stamp with the Stamp PLC.
I looked around but couldn't find any schematics available for the Stamp PLC so I can't really tell how
much will be involved in making the Stamp PLCs IO safe for the propeller.

Thanks,
Chad

I asked this about a week ago in the sandbox. Chris said that because of the shift register (working off 5v) the 2 would not be safe to interface.

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

People say that if you play Microsoft CD's backwards, you hear satanic things, but that's nothing, because if you play them forwards, they install Windows.

I spent a minute looking at my own code by accident. I was thinking "What the heck is this guy doing?"

    You can build your own.

Holloween is just around the corner, I am working on doing just that with my spin stamp!

You just need to make all the hardware, voltage reg.'s and interfaces, 3.3, 5 and 24 v for my application.

I wonder if the on board 5v regulator on the StampPLC could be swapped with a 3.3v one to make it compatible with the Spin Stamp? The 74HC165 for the inputs would be perfectly happy (based on it's data sheet), I wonder how well the opto-isolators would react to running on 3.3v?

Marty, I believe the power supply is based on a DC-DC converter...Not sure about the optos...

    Marty,

Working on the PLC programing right now for my halloween maze, working out all the bugs on my spin stamp. I posted some pic's of the input and out boards I used last year. They worked great supplyied with 5 VDC.
