Since you’re using batteries that will greatly depend on the current capacity of the batteries you’re using. The regulator on the BOE (LM2940) can handle up to 1A, although taking into account thermal considerations you will probably get about 700mA or so without any additional heat sinking. So if your batteries supply more than that, the limitation will be the regulator itself. I hope this helps. Take care.
