I did the thing with Project->Global options and I can now successfully open, edit, and compile code with your beta version of the IDE without errors.
I repaired my .NET 2.0 using the link you sent. I got the same results as before: I can put the IDE into debug, but do NOT get the debugger and message windows.
I downloaded JideRuntime.zip, unzipped it into C:\WINDOWS\system32 (two files: RL60.BPL and VCL60.BPL), and ran both
I saw poor serial communications with the Stamp demo board. So I restarted my laptop. I got the same results as before: I can put the IDE into debug, but do NOT get the debugger and message windows.
What OS are you running. The IDE is only tested on XP with SP2.
It must be a Windows issue, and the dual monitor system
could be causing it because it works on your co-workers XP system.
I'll try to get some info about dual monitor systems.
Regarding the dual monitors, please see my post from 7:36 am today. I tried running with the laptop out of the docking station using the laptop's display. I got the same result: no debugger nor message window.
I went to Borlands knowledge base, but the only thing that could be related
to your issue is

Now this is really a wild guess, but check your com port properties in device manager
to see if your com port is perhaps an usb device. Modern laptops may be·emulating
old type hardware via an internal usb bus.
Here is something to try.
Startup XP in safe mode, then move into the Javelin program folder
and execute Javelin Stamp IDE.exe (the 2.0.3 version)
Then do in IDE: Debug->Messages
That should show the IDE message window (it does on my pc).
I tried to startup in safe mode without networking, but my company's authentication scheme prevented me from logging in. I tried safe mode with networking and suceeded to login, but I still could not get the Messages window to appear.
the person also used a Dell PC/laptop and had all kind of troubles.
Finally he used a usb2ser cable obtained from Parallax and the errors
were resolved.
Have you tried a usb2ser cable?
A new beta has been posted to the first post in this thread. · Completed download command (downloads jemfile to javelin) · Commands link and program now create jemfile if link succeeds · This beta includes the fixes for usb connections Professional Development Board and Board of Education USB. · This beta requires the modified Terminal.java (which also works with official release 2.0.3)
