Can i read and write to smart cards with basic stamp 2 kit?

I'm new at this and i was wondering if i can read and write to smart cards. any help would be appreciated

There are ways but probably not with just the parts that are in the kit.

There are off-board units which can be connected to the Stamp to read and write SD cards and similar types of memory, but the Stamp can not do it alone. Here are two of them:
