help in Configure Servo motor

Hi

I have a 220V (4pin)ac servo motor and i hope that i can run it by the stamp board.· But the thing is my output voltage of the stamp is only 5V and it is insufficient for the servo motor to work.· Can i use H-bridge in this case?
I am facing 2 problem now:

1) The 4 pin ac servo motor i understand that 1 pin for voltage 1 for ground and is the other two pin for singal?
2) Can i use h-bridge to sent a 12V pulse to the motor when i control the 5v switching output source form the stamp?· If yes how am i going to control, is it by using pulsout pin, frequency?·

Thank alot for your help..

I know what a 220 Volt AC Motor is. And I know what a servo is. But I don't know what a "220V (4pin) ac servo motor)" is. Nor do I know why it would be '4 wire' -- unless that's safety ground, Neutral, Hot Phase 1, and Hot Phase 2.

H-Bridges are for running low-voltage (5 to 12 to 24) volt DC motors. I have NO idea how to control a 220 volt AC motor from a BS2 -- I'm sure it can be done, but an H-Bridge won't do it.

It might help if you would tell exactly what motor we are talking about. There are many ac motors with 4 wires and not all of them are wired the same.

i am taking about a 220v 50hz and 5rev/min ac motor it is from china and it have 4 pin. Lastly i cant move the motor shaft when it is power off so it is a servo motor right?

If yes how do we configure it?

lastly the 4 pin are configure this way 2 pin goes to ground and one to 220v AC and the other is a green wire i think it is a signal pin

    EvilMaro -

Just because you can't turn the shaft when it's unpowered does NOT make it a servo motor. Many geared motors can not be turned that way.

There must be more information somewhere, either from where you purchased it, or from the manufacturer. Either source should have the details available.

If I had to guess without seeing the motor, I'd guess one of two things:

    1. It's a 3 phase motor wired with a ground (A, B, C, GRD)

    2. It's a reversable motor - A+ B- = CW, A- B+ = CCW

    Regards,

    Bruce Bates

This is not a servo motor. It looks like a single phase, permanent-split capacitor motor. When I blow up the pic, I lose some detail.

You will have to identify that one lead is ground. One lead will be from a single capacitor lead, the remaining two are the 220 volt AC supply.

Are you sure there is not a diagram on the motor somewhere? The Manufacturer claims this meets several international specs, all of which include connection diagrams on the motor.

You will definitely need to use a solid-state relay or conventional relay to switch the 220 VAC from the stamp.

    Regards

So can i ask anyone of you do single-phase reversible perma syn motor need a 220v input voltage to trigger the direction?
The motor i am going to used at this address http://www.ecvv.com/product/vp763610/China-synchronous-motor.html
I am new to this type of motor as i alway use 2 pin dc motor can someone pls advise me how to use it thank.

thx alot for all of your help

    Single-phase AC synchronous motors
Small single-phase AC motors can also be designed with magnetized rotors (or several variations on that idea). The rotors in these motors do not require any induced current so they do not slip backward against the mains frequency. Instead, they rotate synchronously with the mains frequency. Because of their highly accurate speed, such motors are usually used to power mechanical clocks, audio turntables, and tape drives; formerly they were also much used in accurate timing instruments such as strip-chart recorders or telescope drive mechanisms. The shaded-pole synchronous motor is one version.

Because inertia makes it difficult to instantly accelerate the rotor from stopped to synchronous speed, these motors normally require some sort of special feature to get started. Various designs use a small induction motor (which may share the same field coils and rotor as the synchronous motor) or a very light rotor with a one-way mechanism (to ensure that the rotor starts in the "forward" direction).

I don't see anything in the data sheet that says it's reversible. A syncronous motor turns in relation to the frequency if the input. Perhaps if you would tell us what it is you are trying to sccomplish we could help.

1st is the control of the Single-phase AC synchronous motors same as the Servo motor which i bought in my BS2 education kit?
2nd do single-phase reversible perma syn motor need a 220v input voltage to trigger the direction? If yes how will u do it?
3rd Can a reply circuit give a pluse input to the motor?

My objective is to configure the motor in the way that it rotate CW when the user push a button and it Rotate CCW when the user push another button.

    My motor is http://www.ecvv.com/product/vp763610/China-synchronous-motor.html

If anyone got anyother question pls feel free to ask me thank.
