Crystal - series or 20 pf??

Don't know if this subject has come up on this forum.

On ordering parts, find crystals come in 'series' or '20 pf' load capacitance. For some reason I've never run across this detail before.

For the Propeller, which is suggested? I'm considering (from DigiKey) a ECS Inc. 5 MHz crystal in thru-hole style package.

    The Prop has the capacitors built-in, AFAIK, so you should use a parallel capacitor (one with a specified load capacitance). A series one would work, but the frequency will be slightly 'off''.

    Digikey part # X1050-ND will work.

    5MHz 20PF HC-49/us is the descritpion.

    I know that this there was talked about in the past.
