Well last Thursday I was traveling to an appointment when as I passed the local scrap yard they must have turned on their big magnet 'cause the next thing I knew I was in their parking lot. After some looking around I came across these and just could not let them slip out of my grasp even though I don't have a project that needs them I'm sure I will. They (two of them, one shown) are just over 9 feet long and 4.5 inchas wide. The chain seems to have a 7/8 inch pitch. What am I to do now?

Maybe a weakness showing through Stephen, the allure of the junk yard :o)

They look like the belts off a table top conveyor, did you get the sprockets? I have always thought they would make good tank tracks for some kind of ATR (all terrain robot).

heh, if you're a glutton for punishment I've go an idea for you. That chain looks like it can go around corners, How about making a tracked vehicle that balances on only ONE track. Steering could be done by curving the track. (an OLD snowmobile did this, and I've seen tracked motorcycle sketch that did this)
