Why did the Gazbot die?

Hello All:

I did a search on the forums before posting this, and didn't quite get an answer.

Why is the Gazbot no longer offered by Parallax?· Was it of poor quality?· Did the manufacturer go out of business?· Did it not work well?· Does the Ping))) do a better job?

Curious.· It seemed like a cool addition to my Boe-Bot.

Kind Regards,
Mike

So no posts yet.... Certainly one of the cool Parallax guys could shed some light on this for me?

For those of you that have the Gazbot attachment, I thought I read in a search of these forums that the Gazbot was a little too sensitive. Was anyone able to solve that problem with their unit?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Sure, I know why! At least I think so. . .

It sold quite well, actually, and had we continued to sell it the volume would have remained constant and increasing. The reason we discontinued it was because the sales were a bit flat at the time and the manufacturer was ready to move onto other products. Kind of like the M&M Sorter, I guess. Not much reason that I remember, really, but if I could put myself back into that meeting a few years ago I'd remember the details. If you've ever been on a jury trial you'd see firsthand how people's memory can fade over a few years.
