Newbie - Are there differences in communicating with the Atmel AT25 flash vs AT

I'm a newbie and need to use the AT25 family of memory devices with a BS2 or·BS2sx in a datalogger application. I've downloaded the 1999 application note and have read it and understand how to·interface with·the Xicor (now Intersil) 25640 8k ·EEPROM. I need a lot more memory than 8k and found that the AT25 serial EEPROM·max is 32kBytes (AT25256)·vs 512kBytes (AT25F4096) for the flash device. The 512K has enough memory for my application so I'd like to use it but·I'm·thinking (possibly incorrectly) that the timing sequences for the flash
might be a lot different since they're much newer parts. Any suggestions or ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Craig

    Craig -

Here are some applications notes (link below) on the use of Atmel flash memory with the PBASIC Stamp. Thanks go to Dr. Tracy Allen.

Bruce - Thanks for the response. I had previously looked at Tracy's website but his example is for the AT45xxx DataFlash rather than the AT25xxx and I need to stick with the AT25xxx. I'm cool with using the flash version of the AT25xxx but don't know if the timing and commands·differ from the older non-flash version.

    Craig -

Here is a run down and comparison of the four Atmel flash families, if that's helpful:

I've never used any Atmel products, so I'm sorry I can't be of more assistance.
