YBox (Propeller Powered) @ Maker Faire 2007
This looks pretty cool for those who are interested in the Propeller chip and are attending the Maker Faire: www.makezine.com/blog/archive/2007/05/maker_faire_ybox_in_60_se.html . Looks like Yahoo is sponsoring the project and will be giving out 80 free kits at the Maker Faire (too bad I'm not going...).
It's an internet connected tv set top 'box' that connects to a central web service that then pulls data from Yahoo. From what I have read, it won 2nd place at Yahoo's Hack A Day contest. Looks pretty neat and a good example of the power of the Propeller and the simplicity of the design. Too bad the XPort tcp/ip to serial converter costs 2 times more than the combined cost of the rest of the components...
