This is driving me nuts- I just wrote most of a program for an assignment, and for some reason, the software will no recognize the stamp! jumpin.gif
HEre's the setup- I have the BS2 editor v. 2.2.6 , and stamp BS2sx "board of education." The stamp is connected serial cable, and it's powered by an ac power adaptor, with the green LED working.
When I push the autodetect button on the program, it detects the "loopback" and echo, but no device. What is the problem with my formerly beloved stamp? It worked just fine before.

The loopback and echo will work even if there's no power to the Stamp or the Stamp processor is destroyed somehow. The editor will only recognize a working Stamp. Usually, this is caused by some problem with the power supply. Make sure that Vin is present and, if you have a voltmeter, check the voltage on the Vdd pin (#21). It should be +5V or something very close to that.

Yup- you're right. I connected a simple 9v battery, and all's well again. Thank you for your prompt reply. It's kind of strange that that power supply went south like that... Oh, well. Time for a new wall wart. Thanks again, Mike. -Paul
