PING))) sensor and power
Hello
Not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes...
I am wondering. The PING))) has a range of 2 cm - 3 meters.
But in the documentation I cannot seem to find anything about the effect of the pulse sent out.
And how the pulse looks when sent out.
I imagine pulse sent out is a sphere shape, but sent in a certain direction, meaning some sort of cone shape instead. This would make the effect greater than a sphere shape. Am I right about this?
And how big an effect does it send out? In Watts?
I need to calculate some sort of Power/Area.
The effect from the ecco fades out the longer away the object throwing the ecco is.
I need some sort of formula for calculating this, but I need to know the other things first.
Can somebody help?
Thanx in advance.

Thank you for answering.
But I figure that the PING is "direction determined" (don´t know if it´s called that?)·so the Power/Area and will be more powerful compared at·the same point as the sphere because it is spread out like a cone instead. I don´t know if I am explaining it well enough. Forgive my english...
