Is Copying Stamp Editor Debug Buffer Possible?

I bought a few stamps (BS2p)·to use to control a pump and 8 position motor valve in a perfusion system I am building. After a week of circuit building and programming, today's shakedown run was successful, so I am pleased with the performance of my stamps.· I'd like to monitor my processes and have used the debug command during development to do so.

My question is: Can I copy the·output in the debug window·(everything in the·buffer)·to save in a text file?·A second element in my system is time lapse image aquisition, so I have a·computer readily available and can·easily write everthing I need·to the debug buffer.

I'm using version 2.2.6 of the Basic Stamp Editor / Development System on a Windows XP workstation. I've looked through the documentation on the Parallax site·and have searched this forum without success. Any advice/redirections would be appreciated.

Hi, using the serial commands you can save data with programs such as PLX-DAQ and StampPlot which are both free to download at this link http://www.parallax.com/html_pages/downloads/software/software_basic_stamp.asp

    Hello,

You can also highlight what is in the DEBUG window and copy/paste it into another document, such as notepad or even an excel spreadsheet. Take care.

    Jeff,
Thanks - The PLX-DAQ and StampPlot solution looks like it would work. I'll probably want to go there one day (and find other things I didn't realize I wanted to do) but for now I just need to timestamp my process. I thought I should be able to just copy from the debug window.

    Chris,
Problem solved by highlighting and copying using Ctrl C. I tried the same thing yesterday with no luck, so thought that maybe I had a preference set wrong or something. Anyway, knowing that someting will work is often what it takes to make it work! I like your products - we are already working on our second application and it is costing us way less with more versatility than through the usual commercial channels for scientific instruments.

Thanks for the rapid and useful responses!

In defense of your sanity I have had it not copy on the first try sometimes. Don’t know why that happens. When it does, try, try again. Take care.

    Chris--

Comment from the peanut gallery . . .

It looks like it would be easy to give the IDE an option to write whatever it received to a named file.

    Bill,

I will pass that along to our senior application engineer. Take care.

    Chris--

Although I did not word it right, it is obvious you know what I meant!
