Basic stamp Editor 2.2 hangs when sending data from the 'basic stamp 2 / usb' t

I've tried this on diferent PC's and got the same result with the Basic Stamp 2, USB version.
It seems that capturing a stream of·data from the BS2/USB into the BS-Editor v2.2 hangs up the editor so that you are forced to kill the hung application. Is there anyone out there with the same problems?

I'd try updating to the latest Basic Stamp Editor 2.2.6 here www.parallax.com/html_pages/downloads/software/software_basic_stamp.asp

    Daniel,

do you mean that if you run a BS2 program while in DEBUG mode, the application hangs ?

    Sky,

    not every time, more intermittent-like.
Every time data is sent to the debug window and sometimes it causes the BS2 editor to crash...

    Daniel,

Is this on a laptop or desktop PC? Which USB Driver are you using? What are the latency settings in the Advanced Port Properties?

What operating system and specifications? All I can think of is perhaps maybe the system is bogged down for process time refreshing the debug window…Everything else looks okay.

One other thing if close Basic Stamp·online·help·and open too many time it cause it to hang up as well

Or if go to the Internet and to the Basic Stamp Editer too many time it will cause

I use the USB version of the BS2. See the attached file.

and have a problem with the debug window in the editor when data is sent from the BS2 to the console (debug window)

    Thanks anyway..

It seems that if it is a shared comport (mouse com1 and bs2 on com3 (shadow of com1)) the problem exists. If on the other hand com 4 is used (mouse on com1 and bs2 on com4 (shadow of com2) the problem seems to disappear. Maybe something to think about for those that have the same problem.

    Thanks people for your input..,

    Daniel,

I’m not sure the two are related. What you refer to applies to hardware UART devices which, on older computer used to share IRQ 3/4 for COM1/3 and COM 2/4. The USB controller will (should) have its own IRQ and shouldn’t share with any hardware COM ports. Take care.
