    Hello,

The documentation we have on the product web page outlines how to do this. You’ll basically need to trigger the device and then make the I/O pin an input and measure the length of the return pulse. The lengths of the pulses and maximum return pulse width are all listed. Take care.

The PING))) already generates a 40 kHz signal. Your 37 kHz signal is well outside the listed trigger pulse in the documentation. Plus it sounds as if you’re never making the pin an input to receive the return pulse from the PING))). If it weren’t for the internal protection resistor you would have damaged the PING))) by now. Please read the documentation on the listed reference material.
