Monster robot

I am currently working on a project to add vision to my robot.
I will be using roborealm software.
What do i need to make this happen? as far as the setup wirleless connection is ·concern.

Do i need a tranceiver to be able to program my stamp 2 wirelessly and than a wifi setup to enable the host computer to send the commands to the basic stamp2 and boe? or do i just need a wifi and that will enable me to both program the basic stam2 wiereless and for the host computer to send commands to the stamp and the stamp2 to it?

My robot is 5 feet long and 10 inches wide. It is a monster. So far its working great with the sonars and irled setup. I use it mostly outside(ofcourse). I will send pictures and video of this creature latter.

My robot is a 4 wheel drive (literally: 4 geard motors with 4 hb-25's)

My robot has 2 sonars from Parallax.

My robot has 1 irled emmiter/ detector setup.

My robot has the D-link DCS-G900· > ·Wireless G Internet Camera·http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=1&pid=459

Thus i need something that can enable the·host computer to send· wireless commands to the stamp and the stamp (basic stamp2) back to the pc.
I will be using it outside and inside.

the eb500 has limited range. I want to use something with a lot more range inside and outside, what do ya recommend? Do i need a wifi setup? if so where do i buy it ?

I'd use a maxstream wireless module. They offer modules with ranges up to about a mile. I would be interested in pictures; 5' by 10", it sounds like it will might tip over. Anyway, make sure that roborealm will recognize a wifi camera like that, I've never heard of anyone using something other than a local usb webcam.

    Hope this Helps,
    Craig

PS. Don't forget the level shifter between a serial cable and a maxstream module. RS-232 is -12v -- +12v, the Maxstream products are TTL (0v - 5v)

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

People say that if you play Microsoft CD's backwards, you hear satanic things, but that's nothing, because if you play them forwards, they install Windows.

I spent a minute looking at my own code by accident. I was thinking "What the heck is this guy doing?"

I doesn't tip over at all. I is really stable. I has gone over bricks, grass, rocks small and medium with no problem. The robot is a rectangular shape.

The camera i am going to use is one of the cameras that roborealm recommends and has on their websitehttp://www.roborealm.com/help/DLink_Internet_Camera.php

I will send pictures and video soon. But the robot is just a prototype so its ugly. I am working on a final version that i am first building with solidworks. I am going to sell a small, medium, and large versions. So any experimenter can use with pride, instead of using thoes ugly bases that every robot store sells. It will come with a turrent, for either a camera or a weapon. That's all i'am at leberty to say.

what website is that sold under by the way?

    Thanks.

    Hi Lobo
    · i,m doing the same thing but with a regular (200mw and a800mw)wireless cam,,,the main problem lies in we havent figured out how to send the video further than a mile so not much need in trying to control the bot any further ....Now me pearsonally i think it can be done these guys claim 20miles for there trancievers http://http://www.aerocomm.com/·some here have said that 115k is not enough bandwidth to send video but these guys http://http://www.surveyor.com/SRV_info.html
    ·use a maxstream pro
and its supported by roborealm,,,and theirs also the option of using a 900 and a 2.4 ghz together two get up to 2miles ,,,and since·you,ve already got a camera u,ll need wifi to extend its range·...i just bought a IOGEAR BT to serial usb adapter it supposed to have a 300m range we,ll see when ever my other BT adapter gets here. so i should have 300m for video and serial i think that,ll hold me for awhile·...keep us posted on your project sounds like a winneryeah.gif
