You're better off with Parallax or SEETRON displays -- Matrix Orbital displays blow, and I've found their support (the one time I needed it) to be horrid. I never touched another one of their products after that experience and won't.

The Parallax LCDs are fine, I have a few. If you're tired of the usual yellow-green color, take a look at the blue one you can get from http://stores.ebay.com/PHAnderson-Electronics. I have one and it works fine. You can get just the board if you want, and use it with almost any Hitachi compatible LCD.

i bought a few 4 line lcd's off ebay a while back they were hitachi 4480 ? compatible, i put up some code for using them in the prop area ( with the propeller o' course ) got them for cheap, like 3-5 dollars ea, but they came on a vera slooow boat. [noparse]:)[/noparse]
