DS 1302 Timekeeping Chip

I am a newcomer to PBASIC and programming in general.· I wonder if anybody had some easy, simple sample code for how to import the time from the timekeeping chip and store it on the BS2 chip.· I basically need a command to ask the timekeeping chip what time it is and then compare with an if statement to see which subroutine i need to go to depending on how long it is has been since the last command.· So if anybody has some suggestions or some sample code with cliff notes on the side that would be amazing.

Some demo code for the DS1302 can be found at the following link. As for timing examples, they have been posted a few times as well. I will see if I can find them and attach those links as well.
