I/O Boards

Hello everyone,
I am working on a project in which I planned to build my own circuitry for·an I/O board, but would rather find a product that has been professionally designed and constructed.· I am using a BS2 to control various things in a car with a 12VDC electrical system.· I need to isolate 13 inputs, preferably with opto-isolators.· I then need 2 outputs to run the HB-25 controller and an EFX-TEK DC-16 for the rest of my outputs.
I found this:
http://www.siskconsult.com/·that may work, but it only has 7 inputs.· They told me I could use a multiplexer to handle the rest of the inputs, but I don't have a clue how to make that work.· I have asked for clarification, and if it is satisfactory, I will likely go with this company because they seem knowledgeable and helpful.· But, if there is someone out there who already makes a board to isolate at least 13 inputs and allow 2 outputs, I can go that route easily.
Anyone aware of such a board?· What about having one made, what kind of $$ am I looking at for just 1?
Thanks!

I'm about the farthest thing from a professional but the circuit seems to work, and you're welcome to it if you like. I had a PCB made at http://www.batchpcb.com/ for about $45.
2) The board you found from Sisk Consulting uses a serial port for control. You could just use two of them connected to separate I/O pins for the serial port(s). That would give you 14 opto-isolated inputs and 14 reed-relay outputs and you may be able to use those outputs instead of the EFX-TEK DC-16. The remaining Stamp I/O pins could be used for the HB-25 as well as other devices.
Professor Chaos, your board sounds very interesting. How did the stamp connect? Did you have the socket, voltage regs, serial port, ext all on the same board or what? Did you have to install all of the components on the board, or did batchpcb do it? I am very interested in what you have. Shoot me an email at david.boyd.cox at gmail dot com to discuss if you don't mind. I am willing to buy one from you, but I am not sure what the board rules are on this kind of stuff, so it may be more appropriate to move to email.
Thanks!!
· Thanks for considering my board.
· For clarity, I've attached the schematic used in development.

Since this was the 'Mark I', all the Stamp infrastructure was off-board. The stamp resides on a BoE and I just ran wires for the power and signals to the sensor board; an RJ11 jack carries the serial signals.
I have attached the schematic; it is kind of messy. Afraid I'm not in the business of selling or making PCBs, but you are welcome to the files if you like; they are from DipTrace which may or may not be much use to you. I also have the Gerber files from making the PCB but I'm not sure if you can alter a Gerber file. I've also attached a picture of the board.
A place like BatchPCB just makes the board. You have to add the components yourself, but that's pretty painless.

I have a board that I use on my Industrial Controls
It uses any of the 24 Pin·BS2 Stamp modules.
The Power Input is 8-38 Volts AC or DC at around 1/2 Amp.
There are 16 I/O points that are set up for the Mini Type of Solid State Relay/Input Modules.
You can have any mixture of Inputs or Outputs.
I have been using them for the past·8 years in my own industrial rebuilding projects.
The first one installed is still running every day. The Stamp is a good rugged product.
I am in the process of making them available to the public. It has been a slow process as my regular work has gotten in the way.
The new version of the board just arrived the other day.
If you would like to try one as a Beta Test I can send you one.
I have attached a picture of one of the first units. They ran on 120-220 VAC.
I removed the AC power transformer on the new version. This way it can be run from whatever powr you have available.
The rectifier, filter and Regulator are on the board so AC or DC can power it.
If you are interested let me know. I need another beta site for the new revision of the board.
Thank You,

Nice looking board! I'd be willing to put one in as a truck scale controller, if you want an industrial beta test.

Im stuffing a few of the new ones·now. I ran out of a few parts, so it will be a few days.
The board is set up for SSR I/O with P15 jumper selectable as an I/O or a POT Input. There is no Analog inputs.
If that is OK ill get one to you also.
The boards will come complete except for a Stamp, and the SS Modules.
They are around $9 each from Digikey. You can mix and match I's and O's ad well as AD or DC.
let me knowif your still interested.
Thanks,
Alan Bradford

That will work fine and I have a good stock of SSR's.
Will "trade" an EnT-2 if you're interested.
I'll PM the shipping info.

I sent you an email, but you may not have recieved it.· I am interested in this board as well.· Email me at david.boyd.cox at g m a i l dot com if you don't mind.· I have some questions about it, but I believe it may be the best solution for me.
Thanks!
