Hey all,

Thought I'd better post an update on the Penguins. We've got all the parts in stock and we're in the final stages of preparing kits for sale. All that's left is some documentation review, more source code examples and a box sleeve.·Barring unforeseen circumstances, mark your calendar for July 16th, 2007.

I'll attempt to get a video posted next week (going to the Sensors trade show in Chicago), but for now at least I have·a few photos.

Sincerely,

Ken Gracey

Ken,
Is the July 16th date still a good one? Just thought I'd whip the masses into a frenzy!

You Guys are sneaky. I leave the house a few hours...

Unfortunately, I am going to have to wait a bit. The documentation made me drool though. Does Labor Day count as a gift occasion?

I've got a birthday coming up so that was my excuse! The wife was quick to remind me that I already used that excuse to get my iPhone. roll.gif I wonder how many times I'll use it again before September actually gets here!

July 16th! ! !
That's Monday.
The photos really tell it all - very elegant.

I guess it is good timing - mid winter in Antarctica.

Dakota,

Don't bother calling - just send an e-mail to sales@parallax.com and our sales manager Jim Carey (that's his real name) will fix this problem for you before Monday.

You will all enjoy your Penguins. Here are a couple·pictures from my build with the Kens help. I have been lucky enough to have mine since late last summer. I am sure you will agree that it was well worth the wait.··

Ordered mine this morning...the 5 year old chose red, since the Toddler is blue..she wanted a little variation to the fleet.

My wife just shook her head and muttered something about a daughter turning into a robotics geek.

I took that as a compliment.. smilewinkgrin.gif

My 6 year old asks me almost on a daily basis, "Can we build a robot today Dad?" My kids don't stand a chance. They are at risk of being "geek" hard-wired. tongue.gif

Just received confirmation of delivery of my Penguin but will not be back in the States until the 10th to work with it. Had to call family to go around and collect it off of the front step so that the precious item was not misappropriated!

uh oh... I hit a snag. I forgot about the latency issue with Virtual PC and the BS2px chipset. :(

I guess I'll have to drag that stinky old pc home from work on Monday. Of course I've been looking for an excuse to buy a new 8-core Mac Pro!!
