On the PWMPAL, one pin should be clearly marked "1" or with a dot. This would be the upper lefthand corner. The printing is properly oriented and the processor chip is in the lower portion of the PWMPAL. In the upper portion is a yellowish SMT part (capacitor?).
Similarly, on the BS2, the upper lefthand corner should be marked with a "1" or a dot. The processor is in the the lower portion. There are two chips side by side in the upper end. The markings ("BS2") should be properly oriented.
