I was wondering if it is possible to make the HB-25 motor controller power a motor that is about 0.7 HP instead of the posted maximum of 0.5 HP?· Is there anything I can do to boost this maximum or if not does anybody know of a controller which is compatible with the Basic STAMP and can control a 0.7 HP motor with a peak current draw of 23 Amperes?

Thank you,
Chris Cobb

    Chris -

I have always had very good experiences with these motor controllers, which were originally designed for wheelchair use and can be controlled with one wire (plus ground) from a PBASIC Stamp:

I happen to have a couple of brand new 12 volt only units in stock, which are no longer offered. These are similar to the MC-7 if you're interested.

Thank you for the help. I have advised my client to purchase this controller. I was wondering if you had any sample code to go along with this controller to power a motor in either direction for a given amount of time.

    Thank you,
