Maximum length between an SX and the SX-Key

I always include a 4-pin header in my projects so I can reprogram the SX in-circuit. However, I just realized that I could use a DIP clip wired to a 4-pin header instead. All my projects use the SX28 or SX18 DIP chips.

Does anybody know what the maximum allowable length is between the SX and the SX-key?

    Phil,

    Thanks for the information.· The Pan & Tilt camera project looks interesting.· I'm going to try using a foot-long piece of phone cable to connect the DIP clip and the 4-pin header.· If that doesn't work I'll use the minimal distance method that you used.
