controlling an HB-25 with a transistor and relay

On 3/16, Chris had replyed to a question I'd had about controlling power to an HB-25 with the below message and an accompanying illustration. (I'm just now resuming work on this circuit.)

Drm,

You could use a Relay to turn the main power to the HB-25 on/off as you need. The Relay would need to be controlled by a transistor, such as in the attached schematic. Both the Relay and the HB-25 would only consume current when powered on. I hope this helps. Take care.

I have to plead ignorance: In looking at the accompanying diagram that Chris·included, I'm not sure: 1) How the relay leads are connected to the HB-25 2) Which leads are connected to the power-supply, and, 3) whether there's a particular relay that makes more sense given my application of driving a 12-volt fan with the HB-25?

Apologies in advance for the ignorant questions (I'm relatively new to the hardware world), if anyone can help, it'd be appreciated! Thanks!
