75MHz crystal for SX28. How to connect ?

I am looking for information on running a SX28 at 75 MIPS. What crystal would I use and dose it need capacitors like the PIC Chips or can they be connected to ground like the 50 MHz resonator parallax?

In my experience, an external oscillator is necessary for operation at 75MHz. A crystal or resonator won't do the job. Parallax offers such an oscillator; or, if space is an issue, you can get a surface-mount oscillator from DigiKey.

At this frequency, the SX dissipates a lot of heat. So you will want to consider heatsinking it too — especially if it's installed in an unvented enclosure.

Just curious, have you tried SX-Sim yet?

Yes, do read the Parallax appnote. The skull and crossbones is a little over the top, though, so don't be intimidated by it. With care, the SX can safely run at 75MHz. I have a customer whose 75MHz SX system has run continuously for several years without a problem.

    Good luck with your project!

Would the Code remain the same for a SX0001 ? For a 50 meg ceramic oscillator I am using

DEVICE SX28, OSCHS2, TURBO, STACKX, OPTIONX

    would this work for a 75 MHz SX0001 ?
