Understanding Signals
I recently got the "Understanding Signals" that uses the OPTAscope 81M and am muddling my way thru set-up. I plan to use the scope at a hobby bench that is not near a telephone connection. I have worked my way to page 5 in the manual and I have a bad feeling I'm going to have to run about 60ft of telephone line to properly setup and use the scope. Correct or not?

Is it that you simply want the phone to be near your hobby bench to be able to make and receive voice phone calls? Or, do you have a computer in your hobby bench area that you want to have connected to the phone line in order to get to the Internet (e.g., to Parallax to download software)? Or, ???
Why is running 60 feet of phone line giving you a "bad feeling"?
