Does anyone have experience linking a basic stamp to a fingerprint identity device? I am trying to use the Sony puppy, and would like to scan fingerprints locally without the need of a pc.
Thanks

If it talks serially it should work, does it?

    www.cdistore.com/fingerprints/datasheets/fingerprints/fpc-am_product-sheet_c.pdf

The Sony Puppy claims to be USB interface only. You can look at the FPC-AM module above that talks serially with any mocrocontroller very easily.

The BS2 has 26 bytes of RAM. You're not going to be able to store a fingerprint with it.

Try Ampro, or one of the single-board PC's.

The FPC-AM stores 100+ prints on it's own memory, you just have to send it commands.

Hey, I've been interested in doing a fingerprint project too, but I can't find a supplier (in the USA)·for the readers. Sounds like some of you have found vendors....where might I buy one of these readers?

    Thanks!
