I have a board of education with a BS2 that works just fine. I recently purchased another board of education this time with a BS2pe, and when I plug it in the editor says: Error, no BASIC stamps found. I noticed that this non-working board flashes birght red and blue LEDs when it tries to comunicate with the PC.

Im using the same USB cable, same editor, same PC, same port, same settings and same power supply with both boards. Any ideas why this new board isnt working?

Thank you

The flashing LEDs are normal. What version of the editor are you using? Make sure you have the current (or recent) release. If you have an old version, it might not recognize a BS2pe. The current version is here: www.parallax.com/html_pages/downloads/software/software_basic_stamp.asp

    Hello,

Do you have the latest driver from our website? If not you should download it from the following link. The new USB boards have the newer FT232R chip and require the updated drivers. The installer should update the ones you have. At the bottom of the driver page there is also a troubleshooting FAQ. Let us know how this works out for you. Take care.

    Chris,
I downloaded the latest driver from the link you gave me. The installer updated my drivers and I went trhough the troubleshooting FAQ, which lead me to reduce the latency time setting, from 16 to 1.
The power and green light are on, switch in position 1, no bent pins, BASIC stamp is in the right possition/direction.
I have rstarted the PC several times and unplug the board and all the connections too.

It still does not identify the BASIC stamp.
    Any other ideas?

    Thank you

Okay, last thing to try…Swap the Modules and see if the problem follows the module or the board. If you still have an issue, please contact Tech Support directly so we can have the part sent back for testing.

The board works fine, it was the processor.

    Thanks
