Since Chris has already said that the Parallax Gripper isn't compatible with the tank tread kit, you might want to take a look at an alternative "gripper" from LynxMotion:
It's a simple 2-servo, lever actuated gripper. If it will fit between the tracks on the front of the Boe-Bot, it should work. Also, because the whole assembly mounts to the front of the bot (no push/pull rods), you can easily just move the whole assembly forward on an extension bracket to clear the tracks if you need to.
The Lynxmotion gripper is pretty nice. Lightweight too. One thing to keep in mind -- the Lynxmotion gripper *rotates* and grips, but does not *lift*. The Parallax gripper only grips, but as part of the same mechanical motion on the same single servo (the final travel of the pullrod), the gripper lifts just a bit. Just something to consider.

The two kits are not compatible/friendly with each other due to the nature of the modifications in both cases. Take care.

Look at the last three items on the web page.

Good luck,
