Wireless output to stamp

I was wondering what would be a better choice for outputing a signal to the BS2, the EmbeddedBlue Transceiver AppMod or the Parallax 433 MHz RF Transceiver Package? I will have two output sources, but in different locations so two transmitters/receivers are needed and I do have limited space for the transmitter. The output signals will be transmitting data from two arrays of sensors to the BS2 from within a foot so transmission distance isn't much of a factor.

Thanks,
Steve

You might be better off with an xBee transceiver. They use the same band as Bluetooth, but use a different protocol and are much simpler to interface to a Stamp. Martin Hebel (www.selmaware.com) sells AppMod adapters and the xBee modules themselves as well as other adapters. Although the default mode is an end-to-end serial channel, you can also configure them for packetized transmission so the Stamp would only need one unit rather than two. Like Bluetooth, the modules handle error control (like checksums and retries).

If you can't use the xBee, I'd suggest the EmbeddedBlue Transceivers since they do provide an error-free virtual serial channel. With the Parallax Transceivers, you have to add your own error control.

I use the xBee for communications between a BOE-BOT using the Propeller and a MacBook, but I have used the AppMod adapter with a Stamp. Works great.

Thanks for the advice Mike, the error control is something I didn't think about and I'm sure will save me some headaches
