7.2 Volts and the BOE

All--
Can I just stick a 2.1mm connector on a 7.2 volt battery pack and use that supply in place of the Parallax wall transformer to power my BOE? My plan is to use the same battery pack to directly power a couple of small motors controlled by MMBe modules in the breadboard area of the BOE.
Thank you for any advice that may be forthcoming!

Yes you can…I have recommended this before for those who need more power. You can raise the PCB with taller standoffs and fit the 7.2V cell between the BOE and the chassis. I have seen this done many times. Take care.
