Voltage Regulator Suggestions Needed. BUCK?

I need to go from 7.2v lithium battery pack and provide 3.3v to an application.· i need something very efficient.· Maybe a Buck Voltage Regulator?· Has anyone any experience with these?· I looked them up on digikey and the support circuitry looks intense.· Caps diodes and an inductor?· Wow,· any experts ot there on this?

Go to the National Semiconductor website http://www.national.com/appinfo/power/switcher.html. They have a line of SMPS controllers called "Simple Switchers" and an online parametric calculator to help you select the few additional discretes required for your app.
