Sharing a USB interface between Protoboard and Propstick- Help!

As the title says, I'm trying to program my protoboard by sharing the connection to the USB interface from my propstick, and only powering the protoboard. I've connected pins 30, 31, and Res on the protoboard and Propstick. Am I doing something wrong, or will I need to get a Prop Plug?

You can't do this. The unpowered Propeller will tend to short out the USB signals through its protective diodes. If you power it, you could share the reset line and the receive line (from the PC), but you'd need some logic to combine the transmit lines so, if they're in opposite states, they don't burn out.
