Where can·i find bi-directional leds to buy?

How would i uses them with basic stamp, as something like a touch sensor.

Other sources of these and other electronics parts include: Digikey, Jameco, Mouser. All have web stores that will sell small quantities. Their catalogs are on-line and you can get printed versions as well. Generally their websites have links to manufacturer's datasheets as part of the detailed description of the parts in the store.

Have a look at this project projects.dimension-x.net/archives/73. There are also links to other sites.

You'll need to do a lot of your own experimentation. The StampWorks and "What's a Microcontroller?" tutorials from the Parallax Stamps in Class web page will get you started in driving LEDs and measuring charge/discharge times for RC circuits. Also look at www.emesystems.com for examples of the use of different sensors. There have not been any posted projects that I remember dealing with this sensor technique.

so would i use rctime on the leds pin?

I bought 40 of these and got them lighting using the max7219 led controller. Delivery and everything was great.
