SPI using I2C

The Stamp on supports I2C.
Is it possible to simply interface a single SPI device to I2C with a Stamp 2PX as the master.
The CS can be taken care of simply.

SPI and I2C are two entirely different and incompatible protocols. However, the Stamp does support SPI via its SHIFTIN and SHIFTOUT commands.
