basic stamp 1

Hi,
I'm new to micro-controllers and all this, and I'm sorry in advance, you probably get newbs like me in here asking the same questions all the time. BUT... i was just wondering if the basic stamp 1 would be powerful enough for a project I'm doing.
I basically need it to power a 2 different motors on and off intervals. say motor one goes for 2 seconds and motor then goes for 1 and the loop. I need to keep the cost and size down, so the basic 1 board that parallax sells for 14 dollars seems optimal. I just wanted to make sure the chip could handle what I needed it to do.
Thanks, much appreciated.

The BASIC Stamp 1 could certainly toggle a motor on/off...Even two...Timing would be based on what events happen and when. Take care.
