Hi!

I am planning to connect my basic stamp 2 to my car and use the cars voltage via a 7809 voltage regulator..
I want the basic stamp 2 to reset automaticly when car starts and start my program...
so,how should i connect the stamp pin "res" ? or should i leave it disconnected?

The Stamp will reset when the power comes on. You don't have to connect the reset pin at all. Internally, this pin is connected through a resistor to +5V and there's a built-in "brown-out" detector that will activate the reset if the voltage drops below a certain level (4.??? volts).

You shouldn’t have to push the reset button on your H/W Board if you completely disconnect the battery and start it fresh. You push the button now to bring it out of sleep mode when the program is done. But if the program was always running you wouldn’t need to do that since it would never sleep or end. Take care.
