IR_kit. I just uploaded a kit of objects and documentation
for dealing with almost any kind of IR remote.

I see there has been some new activity on this subject and
I hope this kit will also help people get started using IR.

This will be a good place to put comments and questions
about this stuff.

Bob

I added a subject line for your post Bob. BTW nice object you submitted, I've already approved it, but can you edit it so the All catagory is checked? That way it will show up in the main page as well as the communications page.

I'll check back later today and reauthorize it for you (or post to this thread for a speedier response), since all changes require reauthorization.

Nice work Bob,

It seems whenever I think about some Prop code someone has just done it.
There are some 3V IR remote receiver chips, TSOPxxxx family from Vishay, etc.
I recently got some IRDA transceivers for some two way comm robot prop stuff.
Some IRDA parts can be used as IR remote receivers with 10M or more range.
These are usually 3 volt, or was that 10M transmit range? Better read spec again.

Now I can use my Z22 PDA as a prop remote, hmm home control prop with TV display output?
Guess I know what one of my eval boards is going to be:)
Xbee wireless home control? Nordic or CypressUSB wireless SPI modules?
Wireless propcam front doorbell? Pics saved onto SD card, find out what time the delivery guy really comes. Wireless carpet cleaning propbots?
Flying propcams? got a few PiccoZ, how much does the prop chip weight?
OpenCV library from intel, face recog software, port it to spin? wait for C compiler?
Flying prop cams chasing the neighbours cat? Hmm PIR, thermopile sensor?
Will need gyros, compass etc

Must be bedtime, brain is about to explode.

Gavin

There are some nice objects in this IR kit. Thanks for sharing it. I have some doubts about your implementation of the RC5 protocol though. I think that the code in ir_reader_rc5.spin·doesn't handle the extended codes correct. I have attached a file which show my try with it
