Parallx GPS module and BS2P24

I'm trying to test my Parallax GPS receiver module with the BS2P24 chip with the demo code provided online.·I'm using·"the Board of Education" to do the interfacing. After several tries, I was unable to retrieve any GPS coordinates although the red light was solid after blinking. The error message was: "Error: No response from GPS Receiver Module." I tried the baud rate at 500 and 4800 with the same results. Any help will be greatly appreciated. The code is·attached.·
Also, I would like to know how to operate in RAW mode.·Do·I connect the·/RAW pin to ground and SIO to the BS2p24? Thanks

The problem is you’re using the baud rate value for the BS2, but you’re using a BS2p which has a different value for that baud rate. Try replacing your constant for the baud rate (188) with the value of 500. Also, are you doing anything with the /RAW line? Make sure you turn the power off and back on after reprogramming and let us know how you’re powering the board. Take care.

Connecting /RAW to ground forces RAW mode which isn't what you want from the sounds of it.

I left the Raw pin unconnected. What I wanted to do was try and get the GPS coordinates using just the Raw mode, since the Smart mode wasn't working for me. However, I'll change the code per your suggestion and run it again. thanks
